Meet Leadercast Women’s Dr. Bernice A. King

Leadership may be learned, but if anyone could be born into it, it would be Dr. Bernice A. King. Daughter of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, Bernice began speaking at an early age when she took her mother’s place onstage to speak at the United Nations at just 17 years old.

Now, Bernice serves as CEO at The King Center, a nonprofit devoted to educating the world about her father’s life, legacy and teachings. She is also founder of Be a King, a mission that aims to encourage generations of people to elevate how they think, act and lead—and author to Hard Questions, Heart Answers.

Continuing her father’s legacy, Bernice challenges audiences to raise the standard. How will you use courage and strength to find and act on your purpose?

“Freedom is never really won; you earn it and win it in every generation… If freedom stops ringing, then the sound will disappear and the atmosphere will be charged with something else.” — Dr. Bernice A. King
