Don Soderquist was senior vice chairman and chief operating officer of Walmart, which he joined in 1980 and saw grow from about $1 billion to more than $200 billion in revenue before he retired in 2002. He earlier led Ben Franklin Stores as president and CEO, co-founded Soderquist Leadership at John Brown University, wrote The Wal-Mart Way and died in 2016.
